On August 14, 2005 during the pilgrimage to the Shrine of Mariapoch, our pastor, Fr. Dennis Hrubiak was elevated by Bishop John to an archpriest of God's holy Church of Parma.

On Thomas Sunday, April 27, 2003, our eparch, Bishop John Kudrick, came to St. Mary Magdalene Church in Fairview Park and celebrated the hierarchical Divine Liturgy. The Archpriest, Father John Kachuba; Father Edward Zavell, pastor; Father James Kubajak, a former pastor; and Deacon Joseph Marquis from St. Nicholas Church, Detroit, were concelebrants. Parishoner Dan Surniak, who has been accepted into the Deacon Formation program, served as master of ceremonies.
After the hierarchical Divine Liturgy, Bishop John, the clergy and parish family gathered at the parish center for the festivities and luncheon before the burning of the mortgage. Michael Caithmal introduced Dave Buran, the toastmaster who conducted the program that included a video of the ECF students, letters of congratulations by former pastors and acknowledgements of parish clubs, organizations and founders. The parish and the catechetical students then gave presentations to Bishop John.
The acutal burning of the mortgage highlited the celebration, with the parish finance council members lighting the mortgage doucment to the delight of everyone. Next, Bishop John gave remarks. Father Zavell then expressed his thanks to Bishop John and his appreciation to the parishioners, past and present, for their perserverance and dedication to the church.
