The remastered Byrds albums have got me hungry for more. Will Columbia be continuing this with the final three Byrds albums? Will Asylum join in and re-release the 1973 reunion album?

As far as I know, no one knows the answers to these questions. Re-release of the last three Columbia albums will probably depend on sales of the first eight reissues and the level of clamor from fans. Asylum has reissued the 1973 reunion album in some foreign markets but as far as a US release goes, the same factors presumably apply.

You can register your wishes as to the Columbia albums on the Sony Byrds Home Page.

I follow your website with great interest. I am a Byrds fan & collector & appreciate your vast informational input. I just read your bio on the Buffalo Springfield & it struck a memory chord of a book I had and lost many years ago. It was a standard-sized paperback. The first half was a rock 'n' roll encyclopedia, and the second half was titled something like "The Life & Death Of A Rock & Roll Band", and was about the Buffalo Springfield. Are you aware of the book and do you know if it is available anywhere in the collector's market? If you have any info on this book (title, publisher, etc.) that is probably long out of print, I would greatly appreciate it.

Gary Klun

Gary, I don't have the book you describe, although I confess it sounds vaguely familiar. Sorry! Perhaps someone out there has come across it or can provide you with more information. I assume you and I aren't the only Springfield fans out there.

I hope you Springfield fans out there caught the recent profile in Goldmine by John Einarson. Einarson has a new bio of Buffalo Springfield out now, too.

Jeez, you'd think this was "Ask Dr. Bluebird"!
